About me
I am Yvonne, 53 years old and born and raised in Germany. I love being in nature with my husband and children and enjoy having good conversations with friends. My passion is to serve God and people.
From missionary to therapist
During my studies 'International Cultural and Business Studies' at the university, I came to know the peace and grace of God. I wanted to share the good news of the Gospel with others. That is why, after finishing my Master degree at the university, I decided to attend the international Bible school of the organization WEC in Beugen (NL).
There, I met my husband Jop. Later we lived and worked with our two children in Laos for seven years and in Myanmar for almost eleven years. Jop did Christian development work. I mainly focussed on building relationships with the local people, worked in orphanages, helped people practically and provided pastoral care and later also professional counseling.
I always enjoyed interacting with people from different cultures. I noticed that people often openly told me about their deepest problems. I therefore wanted to become more educated so that I could help them better.
That's how, while still living in Myanmar, I started to study at Elijah House Prayer Ministry. In their courses I learned to stand next to people in prayer and to encourage them to live their lives according to the Word of God.
After that I came into contact with IPSICC (International Psychotherapy School in Christian Culture, based in Denmark). IPSICC teaches professional psychotherapy, especially after (sexual) trauma, and to provide this in a context where God's peace and grace are central. After five years of study, I completed my Master's degree in 2023. In 2024 I joined the Zegenend Helpen network.
I have been working in pastoral care and professional counseling since 2018. Since 2022, I have also been working as a social worker with traumatized women in a sheltered residential group.

Testimonies of a number of clients who have gone before you
“I suffered a lot from depression, anxiety and pain due to various problems in my family, at work and in society. After meeting Yvonne a few times, I found happiness again, a purpose for my life and keys to my problems. But the most important thing was: I found myself. You did not open my blocks and locks, but you gave me the keys to do this myself.”
“When I met Yvonne, I felt a calmness in her presence. As a woman of faith and professional counselor, she understood me. Her guidance was helpful, focused on tangible results and practical. When it was not possible to see each other in person, we met online. I am forever grateful for her help during one of the most difficult times of my life.”
“I really felt heard and understood by Yvonne. She works very lovingly and without judgement. She explained to me that trauma is in the body. She therefore also works body-oriented, using the senses to get from the trauma response back into the here and now."
“When I first met Yvonne, I was convinced that I would receive the right help for my addiction. The nice thing was that there is prayer before every session. I felt that for the first time I could tell my story without being judged. The homework ensured that I started to experience progress in my development. There is a warmth in her presence and she is a good listener who is not there to judge you, but to work with you to see how you can be helped.”
“Yvonne is a super warm and nice woman to talk to. She really listens and you can just be yourself. I can definitely recommend her!”
